The Glaze Kitchen is a special place, some say, their happy place.
But for most it is a confusing array of scary looking white powders and odd label names. Gerstley Borate, I mean, that'd be a good band name, right?
To be able to book in time to make your own glazes in the Glaze Kitchen, you need to earn a "Licence to kil.n.it Glaze Kitchen" through a induction process which varies in time depending upon your skill level:
If you have experience in glaze-making ( like an Advance Diploma in Ceramics, or a BFA Ceramics Major) and are familiar with the wacky names and processes, then let us know and you can book in for a quick briefing of the kitchen's health procedures in our induction.
Once inducted, you are noted as having a licence* and are able to book in the space through the "Glaze Kitchen Hire" website page.
Other ways to get into the space is by working on a Troubleshooting Project that requires the use of specific materials and one on one technical mentoring, or arranging a Set Up and Go glaze session for the times you just want to simply be shown how to apply glazes to bisque fired stuff you own, using your own purchased glazes or using our quirky range of pre-made accident batches.
*needing to renew said license in 12 months.
