I can teach an art class with ceramics - how do I get involved with kil.n.it as a teacher?

Kil.n.it is a collection of studio spaces and opportunities all rolled into one.

If you have a unique class idea and are happy to work towards making it a reality - lets chat about how to do it. Keep in mind, kil.n.it is here for artists and those in creative industries and want to celebrate and promote all aspects of the profecccreative process

First Step:  email hello@kil-n-it.com with your idea and sus out to when you ideal timeframe would be to run the class. Pictures of previous works or classworks are ideal at this stage.

Second: work as many details of your proposed class you can think of, i.e:
  • class content
  • weekly activity breakdown
  • budget of materials
  • firing requirements

Third: if the plan looks feasible amongst our classes and events program, it is time to meet and plan out how to put it all in action!

Awesome!

I make Jewelry, can that just be in the gaps?

Ceramic Jewelry is beautiful and unique everytime, we at kil.n.it appreciated the value of the time invested in these pieces.

But with tiny things comes specialised care necessary for each individual piece (i.e Alumina Hydrate for Porcelain Brooches, Egyptian paste beads need a wire rack, etc).

If you want your jewellery fired perfectly but you aren't around to take the time putting it in the kiln, it would be best to also make a plate or bead tree to hold your pieces all in one place so no clumsy handling causes your good things to suffer!

Booking your pieces in as gaps is only appropriate if they take up the space of a coffee cup, if taller or wider, you will need to buy multiple gaps to cover the space allocation. or you will be charged.

*If using Wire to hold up beads, ensure you provide the correct wire.
*If requiring  Alumina hydrate, ensure you have purchased enough to lay under your pieces.
*If particularly fragile items, it is part of our  firing terms and conditions that you are available for the duration of the pack to place pieces into the kiln yourself in a deemed appropriate by the Technician.
